7 layer cookies

in seventh heaven

This is one of my favorite Christmas cookie recipe, and I honestly can’t think of a single year in my life when we didn’t have these on our cookie platter. The nice thing is they’re super easy to make, and the result is gooey, delicious bite-sized cookies. The recipe only requires–you guessed it–7 ingredients! And the process is simply laying one ingredient over the other and baking until solid. These cookies are a crowd favorite, and they make a lovely holiday gift idea if you cut them up and place them in a pretty cookie tin. Spread seven layers of joy to all your family and friends this holiday season!

instructions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.

Pour melted butter in a 9×13-inch glass dish, making sure it coats the entire surface.

Spread graham cracker crumbs evenly over the melted butter. Then spread, the coconut, butterscotch, and chocolate chips in even layers one after the other.

Pour condensed milk over everything, and layer the nuts over top.

Press ingredients down gently with the back of a rubber spatula. Bake cookies for 30 minutes, until solidified and the nuts have browned lightly.

Allow dish to cool completely before cutting into square-shaped cookies.

⟶ modifications

  • If there are any nut allergies, you can always swap something else for the nut layer. A couple good options would be pretzel crumbles or mini marshmallows

⟶ store it

  • Store cookies at room temperature in a tightly sealed container for up to 1 week
